Abstract

This chapter outlines the numerous materials that have been used for the repair of ventral, incisional, and other types of hernias. It describes the biological, synthetic, absorbable, and hybrid prosthetic products and fixation devices that are available. I have done my best to include all the currently available materials from around the world in this chapter. Up-to-date descriptions and figures will aid the reader in the selection of the best options for the patient and the hernia treated.
