Abstract

Palliative care plays an increasingly important role in terminally ill patients with advanced gastric cardiac cancer. The most important task in palliative care is to reduce mental and physical suffering and help patients live more comfortably. This requires a multidisciplinary approach with specialists from oncology, social work, nutrition, and psychology. This procedure may be executed in conjunction with other curative interventions including chemotherapy and radiation therapy as early as possible to prevent complications and potentially prolong patient life.
