Abstract

The NICE definition of subfertility as failure to conceive after 12 months offers a valid starting point for investigations relating to fertility. Fertility testing and treatment decisions require shared decision-making and clear and comprehensive information pertinent to the individual’s circumstance. These are enormously helpful in avoiding misunderstanding that could lead to complaint or litigation within this area of practice.
