Abstract

Anterior orbitotomy is used to access the anterior orbital space for a variety of indications. It is still possible to access, however, the middle and deep orbit. This chapter describes the various anterior approaches from the transcutaneous to transconjunctival with the aid of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning. The approach to the optic nerve is described with the trans-lid and transconjunctival-medial orbitotomy approach.
