Abstract

This chapter outlines the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, inheritance, and incidence of prothrombin deficiency. The chapter describes the interaction with pregnancy and discusses the medical and anesthetic management of pregnant women with prothrombin deficiency, including treatment of acute hemorrhage.
