Mitral Loop Cerclage Annuloplasty
Mitral cerclage annuloplasty, one of the coronary sinus annuloplasty technologies, has the unique feature of having a circumferential tension design to restrain mitral annulus as well as to minimize the possible risk of compressing the nearby left circumflex artery. Mitral loop cerclage is a refined device system designed for mitral cerclage in humans. A first-in-man trial of mitral loop cerclage has shown excellent efficacy in reducing mitral regurgitation and remarkable reverse remodeling of the left ventricle and left atrium, along with the possibility of conversion of atrial fibrillation to sinus rhythm (electrical remodeling).
