Quantitative Phase Analysis in the System CaSO4.xH2O by TG-DTA Methods
The quantitative determination of different components in the system CaSO4.xH2O is necessary for the production and application of technical plaster qualities. Applying the common method this analysis needs four divergently prepared samples and a period of about 200 hours. Using a simultaneous TG-DTA apparatus with water vapour atmosphere on the sample, the result on one sample only can be obtained in a four hours’ run. Advantages of this method are: easy preparation of samples, considerable time reduction and reasonable precision.
