This book sets out to explore the ways in which changes in views on gender and the place of women in society during the latter half of the twentieth century affected women’s participation and position within British Paganism, c. 1945–c. 1990. This goal is accomplished via an analysis of publications issued by British Pagans, feminist Witches, and Goddess Spirituality proponents, as well as an extensive archival research into the magazines, correspondences, and ephemera produced by this milieu. Most of these materials are analyzed in an academic context for the first time and are entirely new for researchers.
