Behaviour of Wooden Materials Exposed to Electrical Ignition Sources

Abstract

This paper deals with fires caused by electrical conductors placed on or near flammable materials. Our homes and accommodation facilities are equipped with many wooden or wood-based objects and many electrical conductors. This paper deals with ignition of electrical fires caused by electrical installations located in the most commonly used materials such as wood, laminate. The aim is to show how the tested materials behave when exposed to an electrical ignition source. The results of these experiments are particularly useful for fire investigators.
