The importance of acquiring terrestrial satellite images for a country is a priority since these images can have different uses such as agriculture, military, cartography, border control, etc. Therefore it is essential for a country like Bolivia to obtain satellite images. According to studies carried out by the Bolivian government, the greatest use of satellite images could occur in agriculture, since it is the fastest growing sector in the country. For this reason, this research is focused on the study of the type of satellite images that would be most useful for the field of agriculture. Because satellite technology was developed in recent years the nanosatellites are increasingly use for different applications. Within these applications, the terrestrial images are the most used nowadays.

This research has two objectives, namely:
  1. (1)

The type of images that would be most useful in the field of agriculture in Bolivia.

  2. (2)

To select the nanosatellites that can provide these images, taking into account the time of revisit them on the Bolivian territory.
