Abstract

Perennial wetland dioecious herb, stoloniferous. Stem erect, simple, 15–30 cm high. Basal leaves simple, ovate, entire. Stem-leaves pinnate, with entire to slightly dentate leaflets. Unisexual flowers in dense compound cymes, corolla white to pink. Fruit is an oblongovoid achene, with hairy bristles at the apex forming the crest.
