Abstract

Perennial wetland or emergent herb with creeping rhizome bearing the tuft of trifoliate leaves at apex. The glabrous leaflets are obovate or elliptic, 3–7 cm long. The flowering stem is 12–35 cm high. The racemose inflorescence arises above water surface. Flowers are heterostylous dimorphic. Corolla five lobed, broadly campanulate, pink outside, white inside, 15 mm across. Fruit is a capsule, up to 10 mm long.
