Abstract

Perennial carnivorous wetland herb, slimy leaves in basal rosette, 2–5 cm long, ellipticoblong, with two types of glands: sessile and stalked, leaves usually yellow-green but some Alpine populations with red coloration of anthocyanins. Non-branched fibrous roots –10 cm long survive winter period. Solitary white zygomorphic flower with yellow spots on erect pedicel 5–10 cm long, ovate capsule 3 mm large. Fleshy and starchy hibernaculae (4–10 mm large) partly sunken to the ground by perennial roots.
