Abstract

Perennial wetland herb, with a reddish, branched stem, resembling a small willow shrub, 80–120 cm high. Sessile leaves are bluish green, lanceolate, soft and glabrous. Highly reduced male flowers surrounding a female one in a cup-shaped cyathium, these in terminal compound umbels. Bracts elliptical, glands rounded and yellow. Fruit is a round capsule with short warts.
