Abstract

Annual wetland herb. Stem erect, hollow, reddish, up to 200 cm high. Leaves lanceolate, serrate on the margin, opposite or in whorls of 3. Large flowers with short curved spurs, deep to pale pinkish-purple or white, in a raceme. Mature capsules able to shoot seeds in large distances.
