Endoleak Type I
- 19 Downloads
Endoleak type I is a high-pressure endoleak, and the risk of aneurysm rupture remains high. Treatment of endoleak type I can be challenging and can require a different endovascular strategy; in some cases, open surgery is the best treatment option. In this chapter, treatment of endoleak type I is described through use of various examples. Endovascular endoleak procedures using different materials such as micro-coils, liquid embolic material and aortic cuffs have been used. Newer technologies such as the EndoAnchor and advanced stent graft technology has been used as well. The best advice is to properly plan and select patients for endovascular treatment and avoid endoleak type I.
