Charmless Hadronic B Decays and Direct CP Violation from \(e^{+} e^{-} \)B Factories

Abstract

We report a study of the decay \(B^{\pm } \rightarrow K^+ K^- \pi ^{\pm } \) (\(B^0 \rightarrow \pi ^0 \pi ^0 \)) based on a data sample that contains \(772\times 10^6\) (\(752\times 10^6\)) \(B\overline{B}{} \) events, and was collected at the \(\varUpsilon {(4S)} \) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy \(e^{+} e^{-} \) collider. We then discuss about a Dalitz plot analysis of the decay \(B^+ \rightarrow K^0_{\scriptscriptstyle S} \pi ^+ \pi ^0 \) performed using the full BABAR data set of \((470.9 \pm 2.8)\times 10^6\) \(B\overline{B}{} \) events recorded at the \(\varUpsilon {(4S)} \) resonance. Finally, we present Belle preliminary results of the studies of \(B^0 \rightarrow \eta \eta \), \(B^0 \rightarrow K^- \pi ^+ K^0_{\scriptscriptstyle S} \), and \(B^{\pm } \rightarrow K^0_{\scriptscriptstyle S} K^0_{\scriptscriptstyle S} h^{\pm } \) (\(h=K,\pi \)) based on data sets of \(753\times 10^6\), \(772\times 10^6\), and \(772\times 10^6\) \(B\overline{B}{} \) events, respectively.
