Abstract

This book has provided an overview of the changing landscape of Australian tertiary education over the past 20 years. It has highlighted the important role that entrepreneurs have played in creating new educational businesses that have contributed to innovating and diversifying a sector which is facing new pressures and growing competition, by providing sustainable alternatives to traditional offerings. Due to changing patterns of student participation and expectations, shifts in student demographics and rapid technological changes, there is undeniably a demand for choice courses offered by independent institutions, and such alternatives have been well received by students who demand choice.
