This chapter summarises the discussion from the preceding chapters before going on to provide an overall assessment of the impact of the Conservative Right. In general, many of the things which the Conservative Right has opposed have come to pass. Indeed, the Conservative Party has often been the agent of change. The response of the Conservative Right has therefore variously been one of anger or disappointment. The chapter explores the most appropriate disposition for the Conservative Right to adopt in circumstances which are not of its choosing.
