Konjic District Heating System Sustainability Parameters

Abstract

Development of district heating systems (DHS) is one of the solutions for rational consumption of energy and environmental protection. Many old DHS in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not operational due to obsolete and unusable heat generation systems although the distribution network exists. The existing DHS in Konjic municipality is presented in this work, along with the climate characteristics of that area. Estimation of the heat demand accounting for the possible extension of the system is given. Detailed routes of the main and branch pipelines are determined according to the identified heating zones. Sustainability parameters, that enable comparative analysis with other similar DHS, are calculated and presented.
