Abstract

“Burden of disease” at a population level is the sum of all the negative effects a disease has on the individuals within that population, together with any societal burden. It is a complex construct. This chapter describes the many different elements of headache-attributed burden, some not quantifiable but amenable only to qualitative (descriptive) analysis.
