Abstract

  1. 1.
    Retrobulbar block:
    1. (a)

      In itself is sufficient for intraocular surgery.

       
    2. (b)

      Large volume is required as compared to peribulbar approach.

       
    3. (c)

      Sensation to the eye is through the ophthalmic nerve.

       
    4. (d)

      The gaze should be fixed “up and in” for optimum block.

       
    5. (e)

      Retrobulbar hematoma is an immediate complication.
