Common and Different Features Inaugural Addresses of American and Russian Presidents

Abstract

Based on the comparative approach, this article deals with the communicative strategy and tactics, lexical and stylistic features of B. Obama’s, D. Trump’s and V. Putin’s inaugural performances. The hypothesis of this research is that the inaugural message as a policy statement reflects social and economic expectations, moral values and language tastes that people who voted for the future president. The cultural-linguistic analysis of the texts allows defining the leading communication strategy in addresses of the American and Russian presidents. Furthermore,it was made the attempt to build the model of an effective public political statement during election campaigns.
