Abstract

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common disorder that can start in infancy as cradle cap and can continue throughout adulthood. It presents as a greasy scale most often on the face and head. It is associated with the yeast Malassezia, and treatment is often directed at treatment of this infectious agent. It can be seen in healthy individuals but can be much more severe in patients with HIV and organ transplants. Treatment includes topical azoles and topical corticosteroids.
