Despite all the efforts on dental caries prevention, dental caries remains highly prevalent affecting people of all ages. With more adult retaining teeth later in life more surfaces will be susceptibel to dental caries. Caries detection is the cornerstone of every general dental practice, but limited time is spent in the dental schools’ curriculum teaching dental caries detection and calibration of faculty is regarded as great challenge. This book aims to assist students and dentists a better understanding of the several methods and devices available for caries detection to increase confidence on management of dental caries in the early stages with nonsurgical approaches by using more precise and objective methods of assessment.
