An Adaptive Routing Protocol for the IoT Environment
The MANET networks is an efficient contribution for IoT environment. In old publication, the power of the packets Overhead (PPO) approach is introduced to support the evolution of mobile networks dynamicity in IoT. Pro-posed approach aims to make more efficient the behavior of the AODV protocol in a highly dense and mobile environment. In this article, we will present the new protocol called IoT-AODV (Internet of Things Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) which implement the new approach in different scenarios using the NS2 simulator. To implement the approach, it will be recommended to find the right way to calculate the parameters of comparison which need in the PTL process (Power Threshold Learning). To do this, we chose in this article to use the method of dis-covering neighbors by HELLO packets. It should be noted that in the MANET networks each node uses and knows only its parameters and its resources, to have other information, it is necessary to use a process of discovery or to wait for the information of the distant nodes. The purpose of this method is to have the information about the neighbors in order to intelligently manage the broadcast of the RREQ packets. This will reduce the load due to the routing traffic. A comparative study will be present between the AODV and the IoT-AODV based on the following quality of services (QoS) metrics: Normalized routing load, Routing overhead, packet delivery ratio and packet loss rate and end to end delay.
