Cannot Pass the Scope into the Cecum
Complete evaluation of the colon and rectum is essential during a colonoscopy. One of the major and basic steps is to reach the cecum, and cecal intubation is used as a quality metric in endoscopy. This chapter will discuss characteristics that lead to a difficult colonoscopy and reduce rates of cecal intubation and will provide techniques and maneuvers for reaching the cecum.
