Abstract

WiFi is a popular short-range wireless broadband technology based on the IEEE 802.11 standard, and it is the wireless equivalent of Ethernet. It uses 2.4–5 gigahertz (GHz) radio frequencies, and it can transfer data at rates of up to a maximum of 600 Mbps. The technology is used for most home networks, business local area networks, and pubic hotspot networks.
