Climate Change and CFGT Trade in India: A Case Study
- 68 Downloads
This chapter shows the trends of CFGT export and import during 2003–2017. India’s CFGT export to South Asia grows rapidly around at 3.5% growth rate in postcrisis period (2010–2017) compared to 2.1% in precrisis period (2003–2007). Using gravity model, this study quantifies trade opportunities of CFGT in India in the precrisis and during global crisis periods. Potential trade gap in CFGT trade in India was around $6 billion USD in 2008. With these it also identifies constraints and helps to expand capacity and/or strengthen its capability in the advancement of capturing new opportunities in production and trade in CFGT.
