Abstract
In dermatology, glucocorticoids are frequently required, for short- as well as for long-term treatment. The European and US guidelines have been published, in particular for the prevention of corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis in dermatologic patients. The recommendations include calcium and vitamin D supplements and bisphosphonates when therapy for >3 months is contemplated. Supplements of vitamin A have also been recommended.
