Life on Mercury?

Abstract

Men have been to the Moon; unless we allow our politicians to drag us into further wars, men will go to Mars at some time during the present century.13 But where else? Venus, with its searing heat, crushing atmospheric and acid-rich clouds, does not look attractive, and the satellites of Jupiter and Saturn are inconveniently far away. This leaves us with Mercury. What are the chances of life there?
