Chinese Enterprise Management

Abstract

In order to analyze and understand management practices and organizational processes in a planned economy like that of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), it is necessary to examine the impact of broad societal-environmental variables (such as the economic, sociopolitical, and cultural systems) as constraints on the operations of industrial enterprises. This chapter will first examine the impact that each of these societal-environmental variables has on business and management systems. It will then discuss various aspects of enterprise management in China.
