Abstract

The high molecular weight antitumor compounds(HMAC) are attracting much interest from the standpoints of polymers synthesis as well as drug development, because of their high specificity of action, low toxic side effects and longer duration of drug action as compared with low molecular weight antitumor compounds(LMAC).1–9 HMAC may be combined with large molecules in the living body and be slowly released into the biological fluids, giving effective concentrations over long periods.
