Abstract

The relationship between the two genders has generated an enormous amount of literature from, at least, the Greeks (Lysistrata [Aristophanes circa 400 b.c.]) through Shakespeare (Romeo & Juliet; Macbeth circa 1600) to U.S. popular culture (Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus (Gray, 1994), You Just Don’t Understand (Tannen, 1990). This chapter attempts to analyze how one facet of the otherwise multidimensional, multifascinating, multifaceted relationship between men and women may impact on fatherhood.
