The Pulaski Site
The Pulaski Site was discovered in 1993 by the Submerged Cultural Resources Unit during the first field season of the System-wide Archaeological Inventory Program (SAIP). In that year it was decided that the Submerged Cultural Resources Unit would concentrate on those shallow-water reef areas that represented high-risk zones to shipping and were therefore likely to contain numerous wrecks. Three high-risk zones were identified and targeted to be surveyed: South Loggerhead Reef, the reefs sputh of Bird Key Harbor, and Pulaski Reef.
