Comparison of Two Models of the Classical Zitterbewegung and Photon Wave Function
The Heisenberg equations of the Dirac electron have a helical trajectory as its natural free motion (the zitterbewegung).(1) In nineteeneighties Barut and Zanghi proposed a classical model of the electron which also has zitterbewegung oscillations.(2) Different aspects of this model have been examined.(3) In order to understand the classical analog of the zitterbewegung and its quantization we propose a simple version of this model, study the dynamical properties of this system and compare its structure with the realistic model.
