Secondary Objects

  • John D. McDowall

I call the objects described in this chapter “secondary” because it would be difficult to create any of them without first creating the primary objects. They are not secondary in importance; as explained in later chapters, they are, to a very large extent, the real heart of the enterprise architecture. But they are secondary in terms of when and how they are created. The secondary objects build on the primary objects and extend them from simple building blocks into proper architecture models that can be used to manage the enterprise and guide it toward achieving its goals.
