Towards a Tool for Information Systems Analysis

Abstract

Some of the perennial difficulties experienced in analysing situations in an organisation include: identifying and learning about the existing sub-systems and problems, and recording these ideas in a form that is understood by all the people involved. These concerns are aggravated when considering large and complex industrial, commercial and public service systems. Trying to find out about the situation and gathering information from everyone involved is usually difficult, especially since individuals may have different opinions of what is causing the problems, and their own perception of the role they play in the organisation.
