Particle Aspects in Tunneling Dynamics

Abstract

When investigating quantum structures, it is important to understand the dynamics of tunneling which is perhaps the most striking manifestation of quantum features. We have shown in our previous work1 that in one-dimension, the dynamical tunneling process can be described by events where the particle and the wave aspects are separated exactly. The concepts clarify what really happens during tunneling; e.g., we can analyze the basic nature of various tunneling times suggested in the literature2,3.
