Variation in Antimicrobial Resistance in Campylobacter spp. Isolated in Australia from Humans and Animals in the Last Five Years

Abstract

The emergence of multiple drug resistant strains of bacteria is of major importance to human health. Already in Australia there is an epidemic of disease caused by multiple drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Likewise, in other parts of the world organisms that were once sensitive to antimicrobials have developed resistance to many of the antimicrobials available for the use in humans.
