Abstract

The following sections are concerned with propagation of excitation in a single fiber. The cylindrical fiber configuration is one that is found in nerve and striated muscle and is of interest for that reason. Furthermore, one can utilize the results from this specialized geometry in more complex and realistic preparations such as the nerve trunk, muscle bundle, and even for cardiac muscle.
