Abstract

The average positioning error for Naystar navigation is often quoted as a single number, such as 50 feet. But, actually, as Figure 5.1 indicates, at least six grossly different error levels can be specified, depending primarily on which operating mode the receiver uses to obtain its navigation solution. The six modes of operation, which are listed in Figure 5.1, can be partitioned into these two broad categories:
