Electron Transport in Ag-Hg Alloys
Chapter
Abstract
Measurements are reported of thermopower, thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity on a series of α-phase Ag-Hg alloys from 2–300 K. There is a rapid attenuation of the lattice component of thermal conductivity as expected for the large mass difference and a corresponding attenuation of the peak in the thermopower. As in all the other noble metal systems the high temperature data can be represented by a Nordheim-Görter relation down to at least 160 K.
