Physician Utilization of Medical Information Systems: A Prescription for Survival
Throughout the 1990s, sweeping new regulations in the healthcare industry will require vastly more detailed reporting and monitoring of clinical performance in the hospital environment. Hospitals will be required to meet complex new data requirements or face difficult certification criteria, even loss of accreditation. As the managers of patient information, physicians will ultimately bear most of this data burden.
