Abstract

Intelligent presentation and interaction with content is a rather manifold task. Many different application and service scenarios emerge. The list of potential scenarios is large. Some examples are stated here:
  • hyperlinked (or segmented TV)

  • music application

  • content add-ons such as regionalized advertisement banners

  • broadcast show enhancing sound/audio effects

  • advanced content adaptation mechanisms

  • movie scene retrieval

  • narrative and semantic television intelligently personalized to consumer needs

  • active content elements as well as content manipulation for TV enhancements

  • convergence of television, PC and the multimedia home network infrastructure and

  • universal access to TV content anytime and anywhere as well as to personally created multimedia assets.
