Abstract

In this chapter, we look at the effect inertia has on the response of structures. For thin-walled structures and frames, the out-of-plane (or transverse) flexural vibration is more dominant than the in-plane, and we concentrate on analyzing this. Throughout, we alternate between the free and forced responses, although restricting ourselves to the linear behaviors.
