Abstract

The task of job selection is wide spread in life. Let assume a department chair in a University is seeking appropriate candidates for an assistant professor position. Usually there may be many (dozens) of applications for each position. Each application is analyzed. As a result 4 applicants are asked for the interview. On the basis of the interviews one of the applicants is selected for the job offer. The department chair decided to work out some rational procedure for their analysis. The first step the department chair decidea to do was to elaborate a set of criteria for evaluation of interviewed applicants. As the applicants selected for the interview all had rather good skills in the area of interest, it was enough to use 8 criteria with two possible values for each.
