Abstract

The Freudenthal-Tits Magic Square [15] is a 4 × 4 array of groups associated with the Jordan algebras of 3 × 3 Hermitian matrices over R, C, Q, or O, complexified by (tensored with) R, C, Q, or O. That is, each group is associated with a pair of division algebras.
