Abstract

In this section we examine two important ideas in the theory of energy stability: the idea of coupling parameters, which was briefly introduced in the last chapter and originally developed by Professor D.D. Joseph, and the concept of symmetry, which is a major reason why the energy method works so well for convection problems.
