Abstract

Lower hybrid current drive can be applied in a tokamak in a number of different schemes, namely for start-up of the discharge, for plasma current ramp-up, for driving a stationary plasma current or for recharging the Ohmic heating transformer in a quasistationary tokamak operation. Recent experimental work related to these topics can be found in Refs. /1–10/. In this paper we report experiments performed in ASDEX.
